My husband and I just spent the weekend here in a fireside suite for our anniversary. We LOVED our experience so much. The room was great, the service was great. We ate at the restaurant on Saturday night and the food was AMAZING. We also did wine pairings with the meal and the man was amazing giving us the history of the wines. Staff was so knowledgeable about the area and trails and helped us out. We had the best, relaxing, adventurous weekend and will be coming back for our next anniversary. Any staff we dealt with was so kind. Thank you for a great experience!!

We visit several times a year. Always a relaxing wonderful time. Very cozy and a great location. Cook forest is a beautiful place to visit any season of the year and having this hidden gem to retreat to after whatever activities you are doing is such a blessing.

We stayed for the Hygge in the Wilds getaway package and it did not disappoint! The room was perfect and the dinner amazing! We highly recommend the wine pairing with dinner! We were quite surprised with the breakfast basket, as well! We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and are looking forward to a future stay!

Such a beautiful location and building. Our room had hot tub, fireplace and patio. Lodge was full to capacity but it felt private and peaceful. Wife loved the quiet. Many hiking trails nearby. Enjoyed onsite restaurant Fri for pizza and sat night multi course deluxe meal. Checkin was easy and accommodating. Staff was helpful, kind, and conversational.

We celebrated our anniversary at the Gateway Lodge and very much enjoyed it. What a beautiful place with great wine and food! The staff were wonderful, so helpful and pleasant. We will be back and I recommend the Gateway Lodge for those who enjoy the finer things, rustic surroundings and the beauty of nature!

My wife and i visited Gateway Lodge last in 2011. We recently decided we were ready to take a long (kid free) weekend away. We stayed in a fireside suite and loved it. The rooms and property were extremely neat and clewn. The great room looked just as beautiful as it did in 2011. We are not wine connoisseurs, however, Rob was extremely helpful in guiding us to great selections all weekend. We enjoyed dinner at the lodge on Friday, complete with a bottle of wine, and both enjoyed our meals. We can't wait to return for another stay.

I AM 100% SURE I STAYED HERE AT THE LODGE, AND STILL HAVE THE RECEIPT. It has taken me some time to write this, as I was extremely disappointed by our experience. We stayed for our anniversary weekend in a King room. While the room itself was clean and comfortable, it was not reflective of the price we paid. Unfortunately, the overall service—both at the hotel and especially in the restaurant—was far below expectations. Our anniversary dinner was significantly impacted by an incident with our server, who incorrectly stated that I was intoxicated despite the fact that I had not consumed any alcohol that entire day. I even offered to take a breathalyzer in an effort to avoid disrupting our special evening, but the staff refused to serve me regardless. This interaction was uncomfortable, embarrassing, and entirely inappropriate. Because of this, we were unable to enjoy the champagne we had planned to toast with during dinner, and we ultimately left the restaurant early. We ended up purchasing our own champagne afterward and returning to our room, which unfortunately overshadowed what was meant to be a celebratory and memorable stay. Overall, the poor service and mishandling of the situation deeply affected our experience and diminished the value of our stay.

Has been super excited to stay here and was on my list for years. But wow- $300+/ night was met with standing at check in for 20 minutes with no one there, a VERY squeaky bed, dirty carpet, very dated bathroom, filthy sofa, paper cups (?!) - no coffee mugs, no wine glasses- you have to walk down to the restaurant to get glasses. Customer service via chat was slow and generally unhelpful. A single coffee for you!! - and truly tasted like sawdust even tho they promote the brand- you have to BUY more coffee tea bags despite paying a crazy rate unless you want a packet of instant Folgers…. So really- I’d say bring your own coffee pot or French press if you want to enjoy a real cup of coffee and not feel regulated. Walls are thin- we could hear tv and music all weekend. Restaurant was out of half of the menu. Could go on, but the point is here. The good news is there is one trail out of the back parking lot and the porch is nice tho you look at the road.

My husband and I loved every minute of our stay. We were in one of the suites located above the meeting house. It was so spacious. Plus, it was peaceful and quiet which is just what we were looking for in our getaway. Loved the jacuzzi tub and all the room amenities. One of the things we loved the most was the breakfast basket delivered right to our room in the morning! So yummy and you could definitely taste the time, love and talent that went into its preparation. The staff was outstanding. The lady at registration was so sweet and helpful. She really made us feel welcome. We are going to make a stay at the Lodge a yearly fall trip. Can’t wait to come back!
