The Fairfield Inn & Suites State College offers a convenient location near downtown State College and Penn State, with generally positive guest experiences. While many appreciate the friendly staff and reasonable rates, some reviews highlight dated room features and inconsistent service.
Nice rooms, standard breakfast, friendly staff. Easy on and off highway, close to downtown without having to deal with the traffic downtown has
Great experience and great value. Service is top notch. Great safe location. Restaurant within walking distance. Rooms are a bit dated, very old tv. But otherwise Great value and experience.
My family’s experience at this hotel was absolutely awful. I was in State College with our basketball team for the state tournament. When I booked the room, I called to explain that we were a family of five. The person at the desk said their King Suite would comfortably accommodate a family of five so I booked the room. When we arrived, we went up to our room to find one king-sized bed and a sofa bed that opened up to a twin-sized mattress. I called the front desk and asked how five people could sleep in one king size bed and a twin. Their response was, “Sorry about that. We don’t really understand how Marriott comes up with these room configurations.” I asked if we could have an air mattress. They said that it would be a fire hazard so we could not have one. They said there was just nothing that could be done. This was by far my worst experience with Marriott.
Great experience for my business trip. Comfortable and quiet bedroom and kind service. I would highly recommend it to fellow visitors.
Just a one-night stopover for us on our way back home, but it served its purpose of a warm, clean place to sleep. Front desk staff was friendly, both at our late- night check in and check out. Easy to find with GPS, only complaint I really have is that there was nowhere near the shower door to hang a towel, and breakfast ends so early.
I don’t write reviews often but felt the need to shoutout the male employee working the night shift on 2/7/26. I can’t recall his name but had long brown hair. My friends and I were in town for a concert and got locked out of our Airbnb in the middle of the night. We came to this hotel in a panic, with none of our belongings and dead phones, and this staff member turned our night around. He was the definition of hospitable— provided us a charger, water, and let us sit in the lobby to figure out our situation for a bit prior to reserving a room. He made sure our stay was comfortable and we were taken care of from the moment we walked in. The room was great too. Thank you!
To be fair we stayed on Christmas so the staffing was very short. Location was convenient, breakfast was okay. Prefer premade breakfast options like other bonvoy hotels have had in previous stays.
The shower had 2 temps, scalding hot or freezing. Not sure if it was just our room or that's normal for this hotel. Room was clean and quiet. Beds were very firm and small, so we didn't get a good night sleep, but some people don't mind that.
Hotel is ok. Rooms could use an upgrade. Bathroom had some very minor mildew. Room was otherwise clean. Breakfast was lacking in healthier options - I prefer the options at other chains. The location was nice, with two restaurants sharing a parking lot. Easy to get to and convenient. The rooms aren’t very insulated and you hear the other guests a lot.
GM Carlie is unlike any manager I've encountered anywhere! Non caring of a guests comfort with their stay . Extremely negative attitude. .
