The Gamble Mill Inn offers a unique and historically significant stay in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, praised for its thoughtfully renovated building and convenient location. While guests appreciate the space and amenities, concerns regarding room temperature control and shower pressure have emerged. Recent reviews highlight the engaging Speakeasy space and friendly staff.

We used the Speakeasy space for my sister’s bridal shower. We had initial difficulty gaining access to the space, but Jess was quick to respond and help us out. The space was great as well as the bartender service. I would definitely recommend this space for another event!

So much potential but did not deliver. Someone else was able to access our room (the hotel rep told us after we reported the incident that we needed to use the lock on the door handle as the key pad on the outside is not an automatic lock). The peephole cover is on upside down so it cannot be closed. A small thing but the room is across from the building’s restrooms so there’s a lot of traffic. For 2 security concerns, it’s too much. I would not be comfortable staying there alone. The room was nice. They had the building’s original rock exposed behind the bed. Cool feature but there were literally little bits of rock falling off the wall and onto the bed and night stands. The location was perfectly set in the town and the history of the building (old mill) is super interesting. On “paper” it’s all great but in reality it missed the mark.

I love this property. The rooms were lovely, except for the stained couch in the living room that smelled moldy. The location is also perfect and has fantastic cafes nearby. On the constructive feedback side, I do think a few more things could be supplied, including more bathroom towels if there is a full house. I would also think about putting a bath mat in the shower as it’s slippery, It would be a nice touch if rolls of paper towels and dishwashing soap were offered. The mugs were also a little small for the Keurig. Thanks again for a great stay.

Everything was as advertised and presented on the website. Very easy to access the main entrance and the room. There is plenty of parking immediately across the street. The room was great and very nice. We did not get the opportunity to visit the Speakeasy due to timing but it was very active with guests and looked amazing. Can’t wait till the restaurant opens. Have another 1-2 kids going to Penn State so we will be back. Thank you to the brothers for saving the cherished landmark and for creating a second life for an awesome structure. Very well done and am looking forward to more of their projects.

The building itself is a very nice renovation. Great use of the space. However, we could not adjust the temperature of our room. It never got above 64 degrees. That’s just unacceptable for a room that costs upwards of $300 per night. The location of the heating unit, which is a mini-split, is directly above the head of the bed. We could not adjust the louvers on the unit so it would blow what felt like cold on our head and necks all night. It was a very cold night in a well appointed room. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and pillows were great. I wouldn’t stay here again unless it was in the summer. The heat doesn’t work.

It was a beautiful room for a great price. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I’m so glad to see this landmark being invested in - let alone have the chance to stay in it. We also loved being able to visit the bar downstairs Saturday. The stairs to the suite on the second and third floors do require moderate mobility to climb easily.

We love staying at the Gamble Mill Inn! Always a great experience and comfortable. We love having space to relax and 2 bedrooms in the Wagner Suite. Weather was threatening so the Republic bar - which we also love- was closed for safety but we look forward to going there next time.

Unique building and apartment. Very interesting location. I picked place because of location to family and bedrooms. Highly stylized accommodations. Spent our Christmas Eve with family here. If opportunity arises will reserve again.

We enjoyed our one night at Gamble Mill and were so impressed by the thoughtful renovation of the entire building. I wasn’t expecting the bar to close so early and would have loved to enjoy and drink before heading upstairs but the town seemed like an early night kind of place. Be sure to plan your arrival accordingly! The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet (in between interjections from the railroad). Will definitely be staying here in the future.

This was absolutely a fantastic place to stay! Clean everything we needed, beautiful town of bellefonte pa! Upon lvg we were ask if we wanted to see the speakeasy, wow so cool! Don't hesitate on staying it's worth it!! Thanks for having us! You can walk thru town, many places to get coffee, food, etc. I do suggest you offer bottled water if possible to keep in rooms.
