The Ramada Conference Center State College receives mixed reviews, with some praising the staff and value, particularly for event attendees. However, numerous guests report significant cleanliness issues, maintenance problems, and unresponsive staff, alongside concerns regarding noisy AC units and lack of amenities. Overall, the property appears dated and in need of substantial investment.
I don’t know my full opinion of the place yet but my door is slightly broken and the cleaner left it open after cleaning. It does close and lock properly with a pull. The rooms need a slightly better smell. Definitely dated hotel with peeling wallpaper and old style phone. The price needed to be cheaper to reflect that. I got it because I needed to visit someone in the complex next door for two nights. I would have picked another hotel right next door but they were full. Definitely a party hotel and workers hotels. All that said it has comfy new beds and is clean!
The hotel itself is older but not bad for the money it costs. The staff are ok. Some of them are extremely rude and they try to tell you the room isn't cleaned and give you a different one. I completed pre check with my time of arrival well passed 4pm. She tried to say it wasn't cleaned yet. Ya ok. I refused the new room and magically my reserved room was ready with more space than what they tried to give us. The breakfast, while complimentary, was a lot, but the pancakes were bricks and the bacon was still squealing. Then there's about 4 to 5 places to put tips like they were suggesting they went out of there way to serve us. Then to top it off it was about 85 degrees outside and our ac did not work for the entire stay. So with all that said it was on the cheaper side it still doesn't make up for the lack of good service and cleanliness. Kind of ridiculous that nobody seemed to care at all. The pool was very nice and well done but it was well after 10pm when it was supposed to be closed but ppl were there being obnoxious and loud. We stay to ourselves and complain very little so it's just upsetting when nobody cares about our stay. I will pay the extra money to stay elsewhere next time. Sucks because some of the staff was very friendly and cooperative and I hate bashing a place because I personally didn't appreciate the demeanor of the whole thing overall. Andrew the front desk was nice and helpful but the lady before his shift was very rude and unprofessional.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating, consistently going above and beyond to make every stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the room service is outstanding. The restaurant serves absolutely delicious food, making dining there a highlight of the experience.
After a long weekend running around for my son’s basketball tournament, we accidentally left behind a baby blanket, something very important to my son. Since we live nearly 3 hours away, going back wasn’t an option. While the woman at the front desk was very kind and quickly had someone check the room (the blanket was still there, as the room hadn’t even been cleaned two days after checkout), the follow-up experience was frustrating. We were charged not only for shipping, but also an additional fee just for UPS to pick it up from the hotel. To make matters worse, when we received a callback, the staff member we spoke with was noticeably unfriendly and seemed annoyed by the situation. I’ll let others speak to the hotel itself in their reviews, but this experience left a very poor impression and we will not be staying here for next years tournament.
We reserved this for 2 nights for the Big Ten wrestling tournament. There were 3 of us in a room with two full beds. The first thing we noticed was poop stains in our toilet. The room was very warm, 77 degrees, but the thermostat wouldn’t work. We stopped by the front desk to get more bath towels and wash clothes because we only received 2. They had two towels to give us but had no wash clothes. Then they asked for your name and wrote it down as if you are a thief. We asked about temperature regulation in our room and were told to make sure the heat was off because the air conditioner didn’t work. The pool and hot tub were closed, an amenity that we paid for but couldn’t use. We were told they weren’t operational. The stairwell had an ice maker that was moldy. We are fine staying in a dated hotel, but paying for amenities you don’t receive and for a room that is uncomfortably warm, is robbery. Needless to say, this hotel isn’t recommended by us.
Staff was wonderful. Alana and Rebecca at the front desk were very helpful. The room was clean but I gave 4 stars for an old stain on the duvet, that we wouldn't have seen except my child sleeps like a tornado. We'd stay again.
Great place especially for the price, all staff were great. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice and warm even with all the snow outside. I will definately be staying here again.
Would rate this hotel a solid 2.8. If you book a room here with those expectations you shouldn't be disappointed. We were in town during an event and most other hotels were booked so this was a last resort option and it was only for one night. Would not be my first choice if going back to State College but would work again in a pinch. The indoor pool area is really nice if you have kids. Halls and floors were dirty and grimy. Beds are comfortable but did not sleep well due the the HVAC being so loud.
This was a very poor experience from the moment we stepped into our room. We were in town for THON. The room was not clean by any stretch of the imagination. I cleaned the bathroom myself and the towel was disgustingly dirty. The heating system was broken, so the room was a constant 79 degrees. Noise regulation is not enforced. I had to call the front desk to ask them to quiet people outside our room at 12:30am and as we were checking out, a fight broke out right outside our room by the pool where children were playing. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and we will not be back.
A Very Nice Hotel i was very happy with the Rooms, Service and the Celebrities Restaurant was Excellent! Will certainly stay here again! The one small thing... the Hot Tub needs whatever it is that keeps down on the Foam. Otherwise Im extremely pleased!
