The Quality Inn - Mill Hall - Lamar receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff and convenient location. However, numerous reviews highlight significant cleanliness concerns, including issues with mold, bugs, and dirty rooms. While some recent reviews showcase positive experiences with comfortable beds and helpful service, older reviews consistently report a rundown property with maintenance problems and questionable hygiene standards. Overall, the property appears to be struggling to maintain quality.

The staff were kind enough to allow us to check in early (as we had been on the road 20 hours), and the night clerk was accommodating and friendly. But it ended there. Beds are not comfortable. Mattresses are hard. The cleaning crew needs some help. Our bathroom was not very clean. Wads of hair under the sink, dust and dead bugs around the trim of the sink. We were there several days with 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper, and never received fresh towels. Housekeeping never even checked in on us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Quality Inn Mill Hall - Lamar, and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm, professional welcome that immediately set the tone for my stay. The front desk staff were not only efficient but genuinely kind, making check-in quick and seamless while also making me feel valued as a guest. The room itself was spotless, well-maintained, and incredibly comfortable. You can tell the team takes pride in cleanliness and presentation—everything from the fresh linens to the overall setup felt thoughtfully prepared. The bed was very comfortable, and the quiet environment made it easy to fully relax and get a great night’s sleep. One of the things I appreciated most was the convenience of the location. Whether you’re traveling through or staying in the area, it’s easy to access and makes your trip that much smoother. It’s clear this property is designed with travelers in mind. What really stood out to me, though, was the overall atmosphere. There’s a sense of care and consistency here that you don’t always find—staff who are attentive, a property that’s clean and welcoming, and an experience that feels dependable from start to finish. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to upgrade the pillows slightly for added comfort—but even that didn’t take away from what was otherwise an excellent stay. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, clean, and genuinely welcoming place to stay. This is the kind of hotel experience that keeps you coming back

We were traveling for vacation when our daughter got sick, and we decided to stay at Quality Inn. It turned out to be the best decision. The hotel was very comfortable and peaceful, which made a stressful situation much easier for us. The staff was incredibly helpful and understanding. They kindly offered us a late check-out and even upgraded our room to a suite, which gave us extra space and comfort during that time. You may come across a few negative reviews, but in reality, many guests don’t take the time to share their positive experiences. Our stay at Quality Inn was comfortable, clean, and supported by a very caring staff—definitely worth considering. We truly appreciated their care and hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and supportive place to stay.

Absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and well-maintained, which immediately gave a great first impression. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about providing top-notch service. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and the quality of everything offered. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it truly shows. Every interaction felt smooth, efficient, and pleasant. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and outstanding experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Keep up the fantastic work!

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It looked run-down and abandoned and something was just very "off" about it. Almost like it had been shut down for 6 months and they just re-opened it when we got there. There were issues with cleanliness, climate control and the fans (both the bathroom fan and the one for the heating system). It was like noise torture and we barely slept. Additionally, only a few buttons on the remote for the TV actually worked. You had to walk up to the TV and reach behind the side to turn it on/off, control the volume and change channels. Additionally, the back door leading from the parking lot to enter our hotel corridor wouldn't latch unless you pulled it shut and heard the click. Not secure at all. The price was low by 2026 standards but it was still $120 and I felt like they shouldn't be charging people at all.

Rooms were clean. However, the heater didn't not work properly. Around 3AM the heater started making a horrible noise. We had to turn it off. Then it got cold (temp outside was 20°). No extra blankets in the room.

This hotel was absolutely horrible. Mold and mildew everywhere, chipped paint on walls and doors all throughout. There were towels in an open fridge and damaged floors. Ceilings were water stained and falling apart. Sheets and comforters were not clean, one even had pizza crumbs/sauce on it. Asked for one bed and got 2, both gross. I would give this zero stars if possible. I’ve never seen a more damaged/disgusting hotel or even motel. We left after 2 hours of debating and no refund. Surprised a place like this can stay open and with a “franchise” name.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms look recently updated and clean, but the beds appear to be on springs and very squeaky. The phone did not work in our room. There was no information card in room with breakfast times, workout room times, map of property or ice machine locations. The ice machine did not work on 2nd floor. Only hot items for breakfast were waffles and instant oatmeal. They did have gluten free bagels which was nice for my gluten free spouse. The apple cinnamon topping for waffles was nice too. Overpriced for what you get.

The staff working here were very friendly. The continental breakfast is only available until 10 a.m., and checkout is at 11. The woman running breakfast was especially kind. Since we arrived at the hotel late (around 1:45 a.m. after a football game), we didn’t make it down until 9:55 a.m. She was starting to clean up but kept checking with us to make sure we got what we needed before putting things away, which we really appreciated. That said, the hotel itself is very old and needs updating. The rugs look dirty and dusty, and the room was not very clean. I wiped down the nightstand, tables, sink, and toilet with Clorox wipes, and they came up dirty. The sheets seemed clean, but we did find a couple of hairs and even a small dead bug on them. The location is convenient—about 30 minutes from Penn State. We’ve stayed here before and had the same experience. The main reason we chose it again was because it was the only hotel available at a reasonable rate during a White Out weekend and didn’t require a two-night minimum, which was a big plus.
