Linnell at the front desk was pretty amazing. The best I've encountered at any hotel.This guy is awesome at what he does. Friendly, upbeat, informative, efficient. The room was clean & spacious, and the breakfast lady (sorry, didn't catch her name) worked her butt off to keep everything stocked up for a busy breakfast weekend. Great service, clean rooms, great team! Give these people an increase in pay bc they deserve it!

Anytime we are in Penn State this is my go-to hotel. Can't beat the price for the quality of the rooms and the great coffee and breakfast you get in the morning. The staff is always friendly and eager to help you with any of your needs. Cannot recommend this hotel enough in Penn State!

My husband and I stayed here for the first time 2-28-26. The hotel is very clean and the room was as well. The workers at the lobby are very friendly. I really like that they send you a text shortly after you get in your room to make sure the room is clean and see if you need anything to make the stay better. Then they send a text in the morning. Everything was great! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained. Our room was very spacious. Beds were comfortable. Restroom was clean as well. We didn't get breakfast, but it was offered. It is very well located, close to Penn State, restaurants and stores. We had a great stay here! Thanks!

Overall, this hotel surprised me and impressed me. Rooms are spacious, clean, & organized. Service is amazing, the staff is on point with their kindness, help, & problem solving. Especially Linell. The location I would give about 4 Because of walkability to some places, however the CVS next door has a bus stop for CATA Buses, so that is great. Housekeeping only comes if you call the front desk which is great, unlike some other hotels where they knock on the door till they cause an earthquake. The housekeeping staff is amazing. They are quick & efficient as well as thorough with their cleaning. WiFi, they have WiFi, it’s not the best but not the worst either, I did a Speedtest and I was getting 15.3 Mb/s for Download & 2.23 Mb/s for Upload speeds. They also have a self service laundry room with a washer and dryer. They accept Tap to Pay Cards l, as well as Apple Pay. They do have Laundry detergent in that room, however you buy it with coins, and you can get some at the front disk in exchange for cash. Pretty good view for the room I was in, windows are clean from the inside and outside. Microwave and mini fridge. Great lighting, lamps, and adjustable mini LED for book reading. Overall, great experience for the price of $88 per night, would recommend & definitely stay here. Staff were really amazing.

No need to look for another hotel in this town because this is "It". Excellent staff,housekeeping and the rooms. Jaccuzzi to jet away the road wearyness and the interior decor pleasing to the Eye. 1st impressions are deginetly what stays with you when you leave as to how enjoyable it was to rest at this hotel.

This was our 1st time staying at this hotel. It is a lovely place. The night desk clerk Linell was wonderful! He truly made us feel at home. The morning guy however was not so nice. During breakfast there was a staff lady that hovered over people that were getting their food and watching every move they made- very uncomfortable. The only issue I had was there's no place to safely walk to and this hotel doesn't offer shuttle.

It was a wonderful stay! The staff was so nice and accommodating. The room and hotel itself was so cozy and welcoming, and the location was unbeatable in proximity to Penn State and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend staying here and personally would continue to stay here when visiting the area. The only "issue" we had was our TV had stopped working, and the staff was more than happy to help but it was later on in the night and we weren’t in the room to watch it anyways so we opted to not ask for further assistance. They did explain that the TV’s reset themselves and it can be a simple fix to get them working again. Overall, we loved it here and our room, super clean and cute!

Another incredible stay at The Comfort Suites in State College! Pulling up Michael was there to greet me with a big hug! I walked in and Linelle at the front desk had a big smile and checked me in. I had the suite which was huge, immaculate, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It had everything I needed and I immediately felt at home. I went downstairs and said hello to everyone. It was so nice to come back after a couple of years and still feel right at home. In the morning there was a fantastic breakfast with great coffee and anything you need. Of course, Nora had a big smile and introduced herself and made sure everything was good. A big thank you to Michael, Linelle, Nora and the rest of crew! There is no place I’d rather stay!!! Your 5 star rating is greatly determined by your staff. Super nice people. Engaging and interested and also interesting themselves. Very precise in their directions to the points of interest and eateries. Had great time with other guests. All the guests said the same thing about the staff. Particularly: Linnell, April, Keith ,Scott and Evan. This is a very clean place. No odors: which is too prevalent in hotels. The town of State College; very pretty: but these students really need to take those ear buds out and eyeballs off their phones. I see no kids engaging at all. Again: Comfort Inn and Suites, State College was great and good price for its quality.
