The Wyndham Garden receives generally positive reviews, praised for its beautiful mountain views, comfortable rooms, and convenient location near State College. While cleanliness and the breakfast are often highlighted, some guests have experienced issues with bathroom facilities and restaurant service.
This is a beautiful hotel with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows, the coffee was delicious & so was breakfast. I wish that I could’ve stayed longer!
Hotel views were beautiful, rooms were nicely sized and comfortable. I would just stay away from their shampoos and conditioners, I’m usually okay with whatever hotels supply but this shampoo left my hair horribly hard and frizzy. So they can definitely improve that, not a big deal I guess. Breakfast was the standard, but still good for the price at the hotel. Overall it was a good deal!
It's a nice hotel, overall, and the room was clean and comfortable, with the exception of the bathroom. The toilet had no lid, which is a problem. When you flush a toilet, a fine plume of time aerosols rises from the bowl and disperses around the room. This plume contains molecules of whatever is in the bowl, including feces. The mist and molecules of fecal matter settle around the room: on the sink, on the towels, and on toothbrushes (if they happen to be out). The hotel needs to put a lid on the toilet so the plume stays in the toilet when a person flushes. Another issue: The breakfast room did not contain enough tables. There was a crowd when I went down to eat. Because there were not enough tables, some people were eating in the chairs in the hallway, balancing their plates on their laps. Other people had opened a door (previously closed) to the bar area and were eating in there. And some people were even eating standing up! There is plenty of room for more tables. So don't be so stingy. Buy a few more tables, for crying out loud. Also, when I booked the room, the hotel did not send a confirmation, which is almost unheard of these days. And when I checked out, I received no receipt, and there was no follow-up questionnaire about my stay from the hotel. This seems like arrogance to me. Finally, the hotel is way overpriced--not good value for money. So, for these reasons, I will NOT stay here again.
Great staff great food. Wished we stayed longer but we had another hotel booked for Saturday as we had a basketball tournament didnt wanna drive up early morning Saturday so we decided to come up a day early we got this hotel. After staying at both hotels wished our group chose this hotel. They had everything you need there other hotel didnt have everything told the coach next year we should definitely book here
Very nice hotel out of the mainstream of State College but onky minutes away. Nice rooms, bed was comfortable and breakfast was surprisingly good. Will definitely stay here again.
The sprawling physical space occupied by the reception area makes the front desk hard to find.Entering the alley off main road one gets easily confused as to which turn is leading to front entrance. We ended up on a back door terrace, then by the banquet hall and lastly around a parking lot and corner we found the entry.Airy, updated with a pool open late. Room is classy but the shower was another story.Standing shower that leaked water on the floor due to non sliding partial glass panel! Also we missed breakfast which could be pushed back a little.Noise in the hallway caused by slammed doors- patrons and staff. The outdoor terrace is very nice.We arrived late and check in was seamless. The bar kitchen was closed.
The view is amazing. Very clean, friendly staff, looks brand new. Rooms are really nice. Outdoor pool. Outdoor seating areas. Would stay here again!
This is the spot. Beautiful views, I mean amazing, the breakfast was free but nothing regular. They had whatever you wanted. The bartender was great the servers was good and helpful. Every morning they allowed me to sit outside and eat. The pool was perfect. The rooms were clean and I'm picky. I would recommend 10/10
Lovely hotel rooms. Beautiful location. All I heard was to try out the “amazing restaurant”. This might be the absolute worst service I’ve ever received from a hotel averaging $250+ a night. Restaurant was very slow and had to wait over an hour to seat us. Drinks took an additional 35 minutes. Food we are currently at an hour and nothing. For being a football weekend you think they’d be better prepared. The staff appears overwhelmed and frustrated, but like I said there is not many patrons…. Our silverware is being collected from a plastic bin on a spare table. Absolutely appalling.
After having an awful experience at a different Wyndham property in the area, I called here to see if there was availability because I was leaving the other property early. Marlee at the front desk was so accommodating and friendly. We asked for an early check-in because we needed someplace to go after checking out of the other hotel and she personally text me when our room was ready, which was three hours before the normal check-in. The property is very clean, a beautiful location on a golf course, a wonderful restaurant, and a delicious hot free breakfast. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in the area.
