Consistently praised for exceptional staff hospitality and cleanliness, though cleanliness consistency varies and the mattress condition is occasionally reported as unstable.
My daughter and I had a great stay here as we were in town to check out Penn State. The hotel was perfect. Easy check in and out, clean and inviting environment, great beds, wonderful water pressure in the shower and a delicious free breakfast. The breakfast area was so neat and clean and well maintained by the staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
To say this is a 5? hotel would be an understatement! I've stayed at many hotels in the country and internationally. This is one of the cleanest, friendliest, hospitible hotels I've had the pleasure to stay. There was nothing I asked for that wasn't provided. The entire staff went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible. This is the hotel to book if you're in the area- You WILL NOT be disappointed! ? ~Valarie Savage
We came here for a Penn State home game and paid roughly $750 a night for two queens. Absolute disgrace to pay that much for a hotel room, but that is not factoring into this review. Above and beyond the good things about the hotel were the friendly staff and the breakfast. We were very pleasantly surprised on how invested the team members were in our comfort and satisfaction! The room was absolutely not up to standards. See the photos here. There was a lining of dust over the lamp, indicating that it had not been wiped down in a long while. It’s often the small things that get you and looking behind the nightstand was the reason for our rating. We didn’t take photos of the shower and toilet, but there were scum rings on both. Just not worth the money when other places are a similar price and actually updated/clean. The location is hard to rank. We came for a football game and its not close to the stadium but is about 45 minute walk. Lots of food options and its easy for an Uber to get in to pick you up.
Came from out of town for a football game at Penn State. Before my stay, a hotel employee sent an email out with maps of gameday shuttles, the gameday schedule from the University, and a variety of other information that was very helpful. During check in we received a Nittany Lions pint glass and some snacks. After our first night I received a text from the hotel ensuring the stay was satisfactory and was asked to reach out with anything I need. Easily walked to the stadium on game day and there are bars/restaurants close to the hotel. I was impressed at how clean and cozy this hotel was. I usually stay at hotels with more "stars" and the effort and friendliness of the staff at Sleep Inn State College seriously impressed me. Would stay again
I stayed at this hotel 11/6-11/9 to take my son on a tour of Penn State and see the football game yesterday. The location is amazing - we were able to walk to the stadium in 20-25 minutes. There is also a pizza/brew pub across from the hotel which is convenient and food was good. They have daily breakfast with rotating items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, coffee, fresh fruit etc. I can’t say enough about the staff - so attentive - polite - just kind people. Lastly - I am very picky about clean rooms - our was extremely clean. They also refresh room while you are out for the day. All the common areas and bathrooms - super clean and neat. I will recommend this hotel to anyone I talk with. Worth every penny. You made this a memorable trip for me and my son. Thank you!
I am very pleased with this hotel I come here all the time on my stays. I have tried many hotels but this one is my highest rating! All the staff are all so friendly and they go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I would like to especially thank the girls at the front desk: Kim, Betty, Kylie, Denise and Melissa. The house keeping department is so amazing also! Ali, Tasha, and others! Thank you all for the awesome job you do!
I booked this hotel extremely last minute and had a lovely stay! It's a standard hotel, nothing fancy but a huge improvement over the nearby hotel I originally booked. The staff were very friendly and the room was just what I needed. The only minor issue was with the box spring/mattress. Every time I sat on the edge of the bed, the opposite corner of the mattress would pop up like a see-saw. It was manageable and I was able to sleep comfortably but it was odd and probably needed to be replaced.
