The Apple Pony Inn offers a charming and comfortable bed and breakfast experience in a peaceful setting near Penn State University. Recent guests have consistently praised the cleanliness, friendly hosts, and delicious homemade breakfasts. While there was one incident involving a bed stain, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
Clean, quiet, great breakfasts every morning. One mile off of the main highway. Less then ten minutes to Penn State campus.
New clean and comfortable lovely bed and breakfast minutes from downtown state college in Boalsburg. Near the amazing Boal City brewing. Location is great but Rachel and Tom are even better. Definitely the place to stay when visiting state college
All of the big name box hotels were full when we were headed to State College, and I'm so glad that they were. The Apple Pony Inn is wonderful: large rooms, personal attention, and a gorgeous space overall. Just 10 minutes from PSU. The homemade breakfast was terrific. This will be our first choice anytime we're going through Pennsylvania in the future. Fantastic!
I stayed at the Pony several months ago and it was very nice. I’ve been debating whether or not to post a rating but I felt compelled because this one incident stuck with me. The stay was very pleasant. Hosts are very courteous and the place is very clean. Unfortunately, I accidentally spilled wine on the bed. I of course told the proprietors and ultimately ended up having to pay for the cleaning or replacement of the sheets. I understand that as a patron you have to respect the facilities, and I also understand that I was responsible but there is a cost of doing business and accidents happen. I would recommend them based the quality of the lodging but I wanted to share my experience.
Found this gem while searching for a place to stay online. When my wife and I arrived, we were greeted immediately by the owner. We were shown our room and a general tour of the B&B. The place was beautiful. Spacious and so clean. We loved the 2 days we were there. The owner was so easy to chat with and very kind. She made some really good breakfast as well. Such a great host. The place itself is off the beaten path and probably around 10-15 minutes away from shopping, etc. The town itself doesn't have a lot to do, per se, but it is next to Penn State University and there are things to do there depending on what interests you. If we're in the area again, will definitely book again. Thank you for everything and wish you continued success.
We had a lovely stay at the Apple Pony Inn! We arrived late at night to a beautiful, cozy inn in a bucolic setting surrounded by rolling hills, farms and wineries. Rachel, Tom and their family warmly greeted us in the morning with a delicious breakfast. The room was cozy, well appointed and the bed was so incredibly comfortable! We were able to purchase some mementos to remember our stay, like their homemade jams, locally made wines, custom "apple" mugs and a lovely Pennsylvania Dutch Cookbook written by Rachel herself. Just a short drive from campus, but well worth it to be in such a quiet, relaxing setting. We will definitely be back again!
