The Hampton Inn - State College generally receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its staff and convenient location near Penn State. However, recurring cleanliness issues and accessibility concerns within the rooms have been highlighted, alongside occasional problems with room configurations and breakfast quality.
Booked a room with two beds gave us a room with a king sized bed. Refused to change us said sorry for the inconvenience but it is what it is. We had 4 people in our room… no hot water in the entire hotel. Had to take a freezing cold shower.
Our room smelled strongly of mold, but we were able to get a new one which was fine. Interesting thing is this was room 144, same room as another review from 9 years ago saying the same thing. Have they not fixed it in that whole time?
Curtious staff, plenty of parking, felt like I was at home, even though I stayed a few hours. Thanks again, I'd stay here again. Love the door key on your phone
If Josh is up for promotion and/or raise you best give it to him! He is worth his weight in gold! My reservation wasn’t coming through the app and Josh reached out to them and got my room all while juggling a booking in rush for the volleyball tournament in town and spills in the hall and directions to guests. Definitely knows the meaning of customer service (and I’m a professional in customer service). Way to go!
Typical Hampton. Clean, great people. Had a accessable room and it was not very accessible with a knee scooter. Also just a tub so very difficult to shower with a bad leg
Rory is absolutely phenomenal with her customer service! She went above and beyond to insure a comfortable stay! If she hasn't already, she needs a raise; she's a great first impression for this hotel. Rooms are excellent with comfortable beds! Breakfast and refreshments with a great esthetic! If I could critique anything, it would be the entrance to the hotel, its off the highway so be careful getting in. This is a hotel that is worth staying in! Hope this helps!
Excellent hotel. Very clean and the staff is very polite and hospitable. The rooms are great with comfortable bed and sofa. Solid and fresh breakfast. Coffee and tea is always available and the location is ideal. The only thing that would be better is there should be more TV channels provided. I was accommodated with a quieter room as I requested which was very nice and understanding of the staff/manager.I recommend this property!
A great location when visiting Penn State. Not too expensive, amenities were decent, and bed wasn't bad. The room, especially the bathroom, could have been cleaner.
Wonderful and good experience. No issues. The only issue was the coffee machines were not hot enough. However I'm sure that's easily corrected. The rooms were very nice
Friendly receptionist even when we came in late around 11pm. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice full breakfast. Easy drive for a Penn State visit.
